It seems that several Varadero’s of the first series (2003 model) are suffering problems with the fuel pump. We have heard of 3 or 4 incidents concerning MK2 fuel pump failure. Yet it can still be considered very rare and certainly there is no comparison with the MK1 pump failure rate.  Unfortunately, the cost of the pump is very high (800 - 1.000 Euro)

The whole fuel pump issue started a whole new topic on both the  International Varadero Mailing list and the Forum. The problem is only recorded at the  2003 models (fuel injection models). Although the problem does not seem to occure as much as on the MK1 (1999 - 2002), your bike could be affected. We will try to collect modifications etc. on this page and will inform you here.
