Saddlebags / side panniers and topcase

concerns: Saddlebags and topcase XL1000V Varadero
Warning: There is a slight possibility, when the Varadero is fully loaded with rider and pillion, the saddlebags can touch the ground taking twisty roads.
Cause: The cause is due to the construction of the attachment to the bike in combination with above mentioned.
Solution: At the end of February the delivery of a modified attachmentpart will start. This modified reck will allow more groundclearance. Partnumber: 08L51-MBT-801
Warranty: Claims, proved with no doubt, that damage to the saddlebags is caused by and a result of above mentioned, can be claimed like usual. Please note: The replaced parts must be send back to the importer with an completed warranty-/coulance- form.

Cooling liquid problems!

Concerns: leaking cooling liquid. The problem occurred after 1.500 km. and it resulted in traces cooling liquid on the left-side of the engine when the bike was parked on the side-stand and traces on the left-side fairing and feultank (see picture), and also near to the left- radiator.
Cause: The problem is caused by an defect fitting of the tube-/hose to the engine and the radiator, the failure was made during the production. Although there is a slight possibility the problem is exemplairic, please check out your cooling system and the level of your cooling liquid reservoir! The test-model which has been used last year at my Honda-dealer (a '99 model!) did show exact the same problem.
Solution: The problem seems to be solved at all new models. Ask the dealer to give the bike a good check-up before it will be delivered to you.

RUST!

Check out the tank next to the fairing! (see picture!) At several '99 Varadero's the fairing can give problems and damage the paint on the feultank. If your Varadero has this problem, please contact your dealer!

RUST rims!

Check out both rear- and front rim! (see picture!) The problem can occure on all Varaderoes. First indication: small bladders on the rim, underneath the coating. If removed, a withe powder-like substance is visable. If your Varadero has this problem, please contact your dealer!

Brake troubles!

Due to an incorrect- setting of the brake shoe damage (see picture) can occur. Check your owners manual at page 88 or visit your dealer for details. If the setting is not correct (changing tyre, etc.) the bracket, which holts the brake shoe, can break under certain circumstances!
