Got the Trans Alp 2007 aswell, but upgraded to the Varadero........what a
great bike!!! Must say there is nothing wrong with the Trans Alp,just to
small for two-up. Used to have the GS 1200......much happier with the Hondas. |

Hi to all you guys, I proudly can see that the
original group of fantastic bikers is growing always more and more. I
remember with my first Varadero (JAP) the beginning of these sites in the
Internet, trying to join all and obviuosly Bernard (two plugs) is
always present.
Keep riding save and enjoy your great bike, I did it already with 3 of them
for almost 200K km. now riding a ST1300-ABS (08) . . . becoming old? . . .
who knows in future if Honda will improve seriously the XL1000V . . . maybe
back to the origin....
Ciao |

Sad the site is going (thanks for your efforts),
but all good things must come to an end sometime I suppose...just like my
Varadero nearly did when I hit a Munkjack deer at 112 kph..3 weeks ago..I
stayed with it, the deer is no more, and the insurance company are 1239
Euros worse off and it was one of lifes' new experiences like high fuel
costs! Might see some of you on my way down to Austria at the end of July.

Congratulations on a wonderful acievement in
creating and sustaining this site for so many years. I for one really
appreciated the information on it and it helped me decide to buy a Varadero.
It is so nice to access a web site that is free of commercial influence. All
the best, Derek. |

Well done
Bernard. You have come a long way with this web site and have been the
driving force for VIM from the very beginning. Alas, all good things must
come to an end. The young bucks must settle down and make way for the next
generation. The prospect of marriage has tamed you and next will come some
baby Vara riders. You have brought together a huge association of people
from over 20 countries and this association will continue for many years to
come. Through you, we have all made many friends throughout Europe - and
beyond. Thank you for that. Jess |
