an impression of our house and the direct surroundings

Jasper on his tricycle around the corner, Hanoi was not built for modern traffic: cars have to pass through these small alleys! Our comfortable house, with seven (!) balconies
Close to our house is a pagoda, dating from the 9th century, which has its celebration every March One of the fishing houses you can rent to fish in West-Lake
Original 'restored' Marelli fan, weight 20 kg, 80-100 years old and very popular among the foreign community in Hanoi. Our house viewed from the smelly pond in front of it. People actually eat the fish from the lake (but heck they eat everything here).
Jasper on our rented 'motorbike', this Chinese made 110cc bike is one of the most popular means of transport in Viet Nam Enjoying a juice at the waterside, close to are house are several Vietnamese restaurants, where you can eat the whole animal kingdom!
Again de Suzuki Viva, look at the detail: a grocery basket in the front!

The architecture of the part of Hanoi where we live is interesting, you encounter a mixture of French, Eastern and sometimes Mediterranean styles.
