The Oldest Museum in The Netherlands

A musem of incredible fossils, old scientific instruments, paintings and coins.

The crown jewel in the Teyler's Museum (Haarlem) is the archaeopteryx fossil - one of three found in a limestone quarry. It is so easy to see the feathered wings and tail. The giant ammonites from the Jurrassic period are amazing. The Leyden jar battery in the scientific instrument collection could really pack a wallop of a spark.
