The Flower Parade (Bloemencorso)
The annual parade of floats made of flowers is unbelievably beautiful!

The parade celebrates the Dutch flower industry. The parade starts at 9:30
in the morning and goes until 8:30 at night. The marching bands come in
and out during various stages. The whole route is about 30 miles long -
and just packed with spectators. It is a favorite event! There are 18-wheelers,
antique autos and firetrucks, floats, bands, and of course, the flowers.
The kids decorate their bicycles with flowers, too. The blooming bulb fields,
quaint towns and churchs, form a lovely backdrop.
