Walking in Gorichem

Click on the pictures for an enlargement. Two windmills stand proud on the bastions (city walls) - both were flying, and one was open for business selling "miller's bread" and flour.

Ferry for trips across the river, and also downstream to towns and castles. See the city wall along the river in the background. The city has an inner harbor, protected by the city walls.
There were memorial wreaths laid at the foot of the local monument to world war 2. The local church dominates the skyline. This view is from the city wall.
