Subject: BNC appearance schedule
Alex,
I wasn't even aware of BNC until a couple weeks ago, when I heard her perform here in Huntsville, AL at an annual event
called Panoply. I became an immediate fan. Now I'd like to know what her May/June schedule will be. Your information stops
at May 3.
If you have access to her schedule, please post it on your site so I can enjoy more of BNC live.
Thanks!

Dear Alex,
A week ago I found your site on a friend's computer before I had the internet. I wasn't paying attention and now I can't
find your site address. I am new to Beth because of Elton John's speaking about her on Oprah. I love her music and I really
enjoyed your site. Please email me the address. Have a Happy Easter.
Sincerely,

Dear Alex,
I have only recently bought my first Beth Nielson Chapman CD and love it. The lyrics are so good and her voice and the
music is hauntingly beautiful. Do you happen to know if she will be going on tour in England at all in the near future?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Subject: beth nielson chapman uk tour????
Dear Alex,
Enjoyed your BNC page, unfortunately haven't been able to read it all as my modem is very slow
and it is taking me ages. The Sand and Water album is getting a lot of radio airplay here on
BBC Radio2.
I wonder if you have any info on a possible UK tour as I would love to see eher play live. Any
information greatly appreciated.
Keep up the good work,
Merry Christmas,

Alex,
Just found your web-page. Thanks! I've been a fan of BNC since her album, Beth Nielsen
Chapman. Years is my favorite song too! I was wondering if you can tell me where to get
current concert info on her. By the way, have you heard of David Wilcox? Another great
singer/songwriter.....worth checking out!

I had the good fortune of meeting Beth Nielsen Chapman at a party last night following a
concert by her friend Bonnie Raitt, the Indigo Girls, and Jackson Browne. Bonnie brought Beth
out on stage for one song, and I was blown away by her incredible voice and beautiful lyrics.
We spoke at length at the party and she is personable and down to earth. I had never heard of
her before last night and am not familiar with her music, other than the one song she sang.
I'm eager to learn more, and am thankful to find this web site. I'm curious, how did you find
out about her and where did you find all the information on your web site? I can't believe I
hadn't ever heard of such a talented singer, and am eagerto find out more about Beth, her music
and career.
Sincerely,

jad,
Love the Beth Nielsen Chapman page. I just picked up "Sand and Water" based soley on the
recommendation of an internet friend. The CD is great. Since you like her, you may want to
check out Gretchen Peters as well (www.gretchenpeters.com). They were made from the same mold.

Hey Alex,
I was pleasantly suprised to find your page on Beth Chapman. I've followed her since even
before her first album. Somewhere on your page, it was mentioned that Beth was an Air Force
brat. Well, her parents retired in Montgomery, Alabama and Beth spent the late 70s and early
80s in Montgomery. At that time, she was playing in a band, usually in the local bowling alley,
under the name "Harvest" and later "Harmony". I know a bowling alley seems
such an unlikely place for her to be singing but the band continuously pulled in a tremendous
crowd. Music was primarily rocknroll, but Beth often got to shine with her own wonderful style.
My favorites to hear her sing at the time were Joni Mitchell songs. Looking back at this
"Harmony" band, I really have wonderful memories of their wonderful music with such
future talent in Beth.
Beth also did local jingles in Montgomery during this time and I had the early fortune of
playing drums on several jingles behind her voice. Even silly jingles sounded good with her
voice singing them.
As long as I've followed her,I knew she had a name in the industry as a top songwriter but
I'd prefer to hear her perform her own tunes anyday instead of the singers who made hits with
her writing. However, I did not know she had a new CD out and I now plan on buying it tomorrow,
thanks to your Web page.
Drop me a line and let''s compare notes on this wonderful lady of song.

Hi
I just wanted to drop you a line of thanks for this page. Beth is a talent that needs more
recognition...and this page is definately a step towards that. Do you have any advice on how I
could buy a copy of the Japanese "Sand and Water" CD? I really would like to have the
bonus tracks, But New Jersey is a long way from Japan!
Thanks!

I am the country music reviewer for the Buffalo (NY) News, and I plan to give a great review to
Beth's Sand & Water disc. Hearing it for the first time was a very moving experience. I
didnt know much about her music before, and had not heard about her husband's death. I got
tears in my eyes listening to it.

Hi
I don't know your name or where you come from, but you have put together a great home page for
Beth. I had a go at the blue sound things but got lost and confused as to what I was supposed
to do! I am a fan of Beth Nielsen Chapman, having purchased her albums, except for the first
in 1980, I did not know it existed, I am in Australia and I remember the first time I heard
Beth on the radio, I had to buy the CD. Her recent CD, Sand and Water arrived in the shops on
Monday 14 July 1997. I have owned it since and think it is a great CD. When I read the cover
and realised that her husband had died, I felt a great sorrow, as it is hard to lose someone
you love. I think he will continue to hear her music wherever he is, as it is so full of
warmth and care.
I was particularly pleased to notice so much guitar on this album. Yet again, Beth is showing
the talent she has. I have no idea where Nashville is in the USA, but if and when I get there,
I am sure that I will find this place. Many of the musicians and singers that I have grown to
enjoy seem to come from around that area. I think all of your email respondants are so lucky,
you all live in the USA and therefore have the chance to see her in life..playing her music...,
if she ever comes to Australia, it will probably be in a larger concert hall and I shall never
get the chance to play my guitar and sing along with this fabulous woman. Do you think that I
could be lucky enough to have Beth and Dan Fogelberg play out here??
Thanks again,
Ann Tattersall

Am really enjoying the updated homepage! I just got my copy of "SAND AND WATER" On July
17. The store only got one copy and they had saved that for me. It turns out it was already open
and the store workers said they really enjoyed it. Since this copy is a late graduation
present, I hope I can find a copy for myself. I really enjoy reading all of your info on the
web site. Keep up the good work!

My husband and I went to see Fogelberg's 1994 tour. When I was in line to buy the tickets,
the man in front of me told me he was going to see Beth, not Fogelberg! I had never heard of
her, but that piqued my interest. The concert was great, but Beth was definitely the one who
made an impression. I bought her 2 CD's, and since have bought several more copies to give to
friends and family. I love to spread the word about her talent. I greatlylook forward to her
new album, and appreciate being able to access your website. "Emily" and "Rage
on Rage" are my favorites, they make me cry. I was very sorry to hear about her husband's
tragic death, and my heart goes out to her and her family.

I talked to you a while ago. I'm a pro keyboardist in California. I had heard that Beth's new
album was coming out in a couple of months and wanted to check your site to see if you had any
other news. It looks like you've done some good work since the last time I checked in. Keep up
the effort! I didn't know about Beth's husband. It's a real shame. He must not have been to
old. There's a mention that she was a parent, do you know anything else about it? It's more
amazing if she's a single parent trying to make a recording career. It takes guts and talent,
and it appears that she has both.
See ya,

Hi Alex---
Really enjoyed the Beth page. I got to meet her a little over a month ago at the Bluebird Cafe
in Nashville, TN. I had gone to see Lari White that night, and Beth came to the show. After
the intermission, Beth did a cut off the not-yet-released album. I was so awestruck that she
was there, I really don't remember what the song was about. I remember I liked it though. The
funny thing about seeing her just pop up unexpectedly was that I had tried to make reservations
to see her do a show with Ashley Cleveland in October at the same place and it was already
booked up. She was very nice---she was very bubbly in talking--that surprised me a bit as her
songs are usually so deep and though-provoking. Oh well---thought I'd share that with you--keep
up the great work on the page.

Was please to find information on Beth Neilsen Chapman. There are many talented people out
there, but to me this woman is the best I have ever heard. Every time I listen to the one CD
I have (You Hold The Key), each piece becomes my favorite as it's played, no matter how many
times I play it. In many years of listening and enjoying music, I can't remember that ever
happening before. Thanks to your efforts with this page, I should be able to enjoy even
more.

Hi there,
I am a student at Berklee College of Music and just came back from a trip from Nashville where
a whole bunch of us singer/songwriters got to meet with respected people in the industry.
Among our list of very talented people we got to meet with Beth for a clinic and also a
"round". If you don't know what that is a round is where you get a 4-5 maybe 3
songwriters together and they sit in a circle and play their own songs, one at a time always
moving around the circle so everybody has an equal chance to "show off" haha. I don't
know if you have ever mey Beth but she is absolutely one of the greatest people I have ever seen
on stage and off. She is really spontaneous in her actions on stage and just has a wonderfully
fun personality all around. I wish I could have stayed at the Bluebird Cafe, the place where
that round took place, all night just listening to her music. Anyway, I just wanted to let you
know a little behind the person that makes her music. She played us a couple new songs that
she wants to put on her next album and she also said that she WILL make a bluegrass album because
she loves that style of music.(I think it was bluegrass) Being at Berklee we get exposed to this
kind of thing all the time and I think it is wonderful. Thanks for your great page, it is good to
see another Beth Neilsen Chapman fan out there. Three Cheers!!!!
Just a fan,
Collin

Hi There,
I just found your web page on BNC and I wanted let you know I'm a big fan too! I'm sending you
a piece I found once on the Warner Brothers page. It mentions her first album, Hearing It First
which by the way is on Capitol Records and I'd love to get a copy. Also, I have 3 albums which
contain songs by her that you may not know of. Suzy Bogguss has an album called Aces which is a
great album and covers "Save Yourself" on it. The Forester Sisters album, Talkin' Bout
Men has a BNC song called co-written with Kent Robbins called Somebody Else's Moon and (this is
a real scream) Brenda Lee's album which is self-titled from 1991 has a song by her called Once
Love Makes A Fool of You on it.
I can't wait until May 6th. Thanks for the tip about the Neil Diamond duet. I managed to find
a used copy right away. A real find!
I did see that Dan Fogelburg concert by the way. A memorable moment for me to say the least.
In friendship,

Thanks Alex! It was good news just to hear that Beth is coming out with a new record. I hope
that it gets nationwide distribrution so I can get my hands on a copy here in LA. I also hope
that she sticks to her format and doesn't end up being pushed around by a label. "Beth...The
Grunge Years", "Rap Master BNC", "Beth Chapman: Unchained...", etc. Her
songwriting is poignant and tasteful. Her melodies are memorable and her playing is intelligent.
I guess I'm a fan. Let's look forward to a good experience on the next listen. Thanks again for
the reply.

Hi! I just found your page. I have been a fan of Beth's since her first CD came out. I can't
wait to get the new one. I just saw her on Rosie O'Donnell singing backup for Bonnie Raitt last
week. I think my favorite song is "Emily." My sister and I sang "Faithful Heart"
at my aunt's wedding a couple of years ago. I wanted to make one correction though. On Suzy
Bogguss's album, Give Me Some Wheels, Beth didn't write any of the songs or play keyboards. She
did sing background vocals on "Live To Love Another Day" which I thought was really
sad since I heard that Beth's husband died a couple years ago. Thanks for having such a great
page.

Dear jad@
Beth Nielsen Chapman happens to be my favorite female singer on the planet. She may be no
Striesand, but then again, Striesand is no Nielsen. She does not yet have another album out,
but she did to a great duet recently with Niel Diamond on his country album. Id recommend
checking it out because as usual, her voice is as haunting and moving as ever, and the
touching emotion she conveys comes on like a tidal wave. Thanks. Need more,

JAD,
I first heard of Beth when I saw her as the opening act for Dan Fogelberg at Valley Forge
Music Fair (same tour talked about at the end of this page). At first I was dissapointed that
I had to sit through an opening act before seeing Fogelberg, but immediately became impressed
with her song writing and musical talent. She was a great performer and I have been trying to
find out if she will be touring again. After going out and buying her two CDs, I was surprised
at the high number of great songs. We also started realizing that alot of her songs you hear
being played in stores and malls over the PA system, the songs are easy listening.
Unfortunately there aren't a lot of people who know who Beth Nielsen Chapman is. I read in a
magazine that just prior the 1994 tour with Fogelberg, Beth found out that her husband was
terminally ill, cancer I think. He died sometime in 1995. This has slowed down her career and
I think she is trying to spend time with her kid (kids?). The article was written in early
1996 and it said that she is planning to have another CD out by the end of 1996. I'll be
looking forward to it. I'll be visiting this page to see if you have any updates.

I too am a fan of Beth Neilson Chapman. I was first introduced to her music in the fall of
1994. She toured with Dan Fogelberg as his opening act. I went and bought her first CD before
I went to the concert. The guy at the music store assured me that I'd be back to buy her
second CD and he was right. I fell in love with her music. She was great in concert too !!!
I have a review I wrote up of her concert. Let me know if you want me to send it to you. Did
you know that Trisha Yearwood has recorded several of Beth's songs? Check out Trisha's
"Hearts In Armour" CD for her version of Beth's "Down On My Knees" and
"You Say You Will".
Hope to hear back from you. - Paul in Rochester Minnesota
