Lechquelle Gebirge (1977)

Starting place: St Anton am Arlberg.

In 1977 we (Corrie, Jan) went to the west Lechtaler Alps, of which the most western part is also known as the Lechquelle Gebirge. The first days my brother Geert joined us. The last days we joined a group from Limburg. The route ended premature in Oberlech, where I had an accident. This meant that for the last days we went to Feldkirch (even to the hospital).
This tour we suffered several days from rain, so sometimes a valley walk was necessary, while there was also a nice `highway' alternative.
In 1997 I (Jan) visited this region again under much better conditions with my son Walter.

Our Route

We started in St Anton am Arlberg and first went north to Lech. From there we turned to the west. After reaching the Rote Wand, we went north again and finally returned to Lech.
